Design

• The Hitachi NT65MA3 and the Hitachi NT65MA2 both consist of an aluminum body and a composite magazine, the latter of which is the compartment that holds the nail guns' nails. A primary difference between the two nail gun designs is size. While the NT65MA3 has dimensions of 14.4 inches long by 4.8 inches wide by 15 inches high, the NT65MA2 has dimensions of 17 inches long by 6 inches wide by 27 inches high. In addition, the color scheme of the NT65MA3 is green with black trim, whereas the color scheme of the NT65MA2 is white with black trim. Both nail gun models weigh 4.4 lbs.

Power Source

• For embedding nails into wood and other materials, the Hitachi NT65MA3 and the Hitachi NT65MA2 rely on air power. More specifically, both nail guns can provide operating air pressures of between 70 lbs. per square inch and 120 psi. The greater the psi a nail gun can provide, the more forcefully it can embed nails.

Magazine

• The magazine specifications of the Hitachi NT65MA3 and the Hitachi NT65MA2 are identical. Both nail gun magazines can accept 15-gauge nails with lengths of between 1.25 inches and 2.5 inches. The gauge of a nail refers to the diameter of a nail's shank, which is the long, narrow part of the nail. Higher gauge measurements correlate to smaller diameters; so a 1-gauge nail has a much thicker shank than a 15-gauge nail. Specifically, a 15-gauge nail has a diameter of 0.0720 inches. In addition to accepting the same nail sizes, the magazines of the NT65MA3 and the NT65MA2 are oriented at the same angle: 34 degrees.

Convenient Features

• The Hitachi NT65MA3 and the Hitachi NT65MA2 both provide the same features for increasing convenience. These include an integrated air duster, which clears away dust and debris from the surface a user is working on; and a 360-degree adjustable exhaust, which allows users to position the nail gun's exhaust vent in any desired direction.
