How to Install a Clamp Connector

Clamp connectors are special metal connectors that are used for attaching sections of pipe together, particularly in offshore drilling applications. Clamp connectors have become favored over ANSI flanges because they have fewer pieces and are considerably easier to assemble. A standard clamp connector consists of two butt weld hubs, which fit over the pipe to be sealed; two clamps; two seal rings and four nuts and bolts, which hold the sections of pipe together.
