Instructions for a Cen-Tech Magnetic Base

Assembly

  Insert the vertical post of your Cen-Tech Magnetic Base into the threaded hole at the top of the square magnetic base and screw it in tightly.

  Slide the upright swivel, which has a large black knob and two mounting brackets, onto the vertical post so that the knob faces you and the second mounting bracket is perpendicular to the vertical post. Turn the knob clockwise to tightly fasten the swivel to the post.

  Slide the horizontal post through the remaining bracket in the swivel so that the very end of the horizontal post juts out of the back of the swivel.

  Slide the indicator clamp onto the horizontal post. The indicator clamp has a knob similar to that of the swivel, but also has a bushing assembly on the other end of its mounting bracket.

Adjustment and Use

  Place the fully assembled base on a metal work table or other magnetic work surface, and position it so that it is convenient for you to reach.

  Turn the dial at the bottom of the unit to the "On" position in order to set the magnet.

  Loosen the knob on the upright swivel and position the horizontal arm at the height and angle that is most convenient for you.

  Slide the indicator clamp along the horizontal post to position it as necessary, and screw your indicator gauge onto its bushing. If need be, slide the provided 5/16-inch bushing onto the indicator clamp holder and fasten it by pressing in its hex stud fastener.

  Loosen or tighten the fine adjustment thumbscrew, which is attached to a circular assembly in the center of the horizontal rod, to precisely adjust the position of the horizontal rod so that you get a proper reading from your gauge.
