Nomura's Swiss-style lathes have been manufactured to provide a fast performance cycle for use in reduced space. Most notable features include their machining capabilities and interchangeability that can handle precision turning, drilling, and milling. They also feature a part catcher for separating parts from chips, a chip basket, and coolant tank, and their tool posts and holders provide thermal stability and precision. Gosiger ( gosiger.com ) is the exclusive distributor of Nomura Swiss-style lathes in North America.
The NN-10 series offers two configurations of compact Swiss-type CNC automatic lathes. Both lathes are equipped with as many as 10 stationary tools as well as three live tools. Lathes from Nomura's NN-10 series also feature a hand-scraped dovetail-axis for increased accuracy. They offer 10,000 revolutions per minute spindle speed and a rapid traverse rate of 1,400 ipm. They also include a chip basket and cooling tank.
This model of combines three live spindles for cross milling and drilling, three end working positions, and five turning positions. Sub spindles allow pip-free cutoff and simultaneous drilling operations. Spindle speed is 10,000 revolutions per minute with 1,260 ipm rapid traverse feeding. This model also features a preset quick change tool that reduces the time it takes to set up different operations by as much as 60 percent.
This series of Swiss-style lathes is designed for high-precision parts when a back spindle is not needed. The series features six OD turning tools, four ID tools, and four live milling and drilling tools. Spindle revolutions are 10,000 per minute with a live spindle speed of 6,000 RPM. These lathes also feature a cut-off tool breakage detector, bar feeder interface and main spindle overload detection system.
