Dimensions of a Gehl 3310 Skid Steer

The Gehl SL3310 Skid Steer Loader is a small, but powerful piece of construction equipment used for moving dirt and other construction debris. It can be equipped with a number of different attachments that can transform it from a pallet mover to a machine for cleaning barn stalls. It was produced between 1983 and 1997, before giving way to more advanced models.
  1. Engine Size

    • The Gehl SL3310 Skid Steer Loader has a 20 horsepower, 2-cylinder gasoline-powered engine manufactured by Onan. This engine also is used in a variety of applications by other equipment manufacturers, including Toro and John Deere. The engine powers the motor that drives both the front and rear wheels, as well as the lift arms that control the bucket and other attachments.

    Weight and Hauling

    • Since this piece of equipment is not made to be driven long distances, it must be hauled on a trailer if the job site is more than a few miles away. For trailering purposes, the machine weighs 3,160 lbs. The trailer must be able to accommodate a piece of equipment that is approximately 55 inches wide. The length depends on the size of the attachment on the front of the machine.

    Bucket Size

    • The machine is designed to pick up loads weighing no more than 750 lbs. The bucket is 54 inches wide and can hold 7.3 cubic feet of material. The bucket can scoop up construction material, rocks and dirt and deposit the debris into a medium-sized dump truck. On most models, the operator is protected from flying debris by a roll cage.

    Attachments

    • In addition to the bucket that it comes equipped with, other attachments can be connected to this machine. These range from forks to pick-up pallets, stump grinders, augers and brush cutters. It also can be connected to a bulldozer blade for smaller, specialized grading jobs. The attachments, such as the primary bucket, are typically attached to the lift arms, which are controlled by the operator through hydraulic motors.
