How to Make a Sawhorse With Brackets

The sawhorse is a versatile tool that assists almost every home project. It configures easily to hold wood while it is cut. It can also form a work table with a second sawhorse and a sheet of plywood. A sawhorse is made by connecting equal length 2-by-4 lumber to a metal bracket. This allows each leg to be folded flat for easy transportation between jobs. The sawhorse brackets are available from any hardware store.

Push both bottom legs together to open the bracket up on top. Insert the 48-inch piece of wood between the opening and spread the legs, bringing the brackets teeth into the wood. Repeat this step to install the other set of legs on the opposite side of the 48-inch lumber.
