Insert the chuck key into the chuck hole on the power drill. Turn counterclockwise to loosen the chuck. Some models of power drills do not have a chuck key and have an adjustable ring around the base of the chuck. If the power drill you use has an adjustable ring, turn the ring counterclockwise with your hand to loosen the chuck.
Insert the shaft end of the Tapcon Condrive 500 drill bit into the hole at the end of the chuck. Use the same size drill bit as the anchor.
Turn the chuck key clockwise to tighten the chuck around the drill bit. If the power drill you use has an adjustable ring, hand-tighten the ring by turning it clockwise.
Position the tip of the drill bit against the concrete at a 90-degree angle.
Pull the trigger on the power drill and push down into the concrete to begin drilling a hole. Drill the hole 1/4 inch deeper than the length of the Tapcon anchor that will be used -- a minimum of 1 inch and a maximum of 1 3/4 inches. The anchor is now ready to be set.
