How to Bleed the Hydrolic on an M-700 Bobcat

Bobcat Company is a manufacturer of farm and construction equipment founded in 1947 in North Dakota. The company sells skid steer loaders and other small hydraulic equipment under the Bobcat brand name. One of the skid steer loaders it sells is known as the M-700, a 2-ton vehicle with a 1,200 lb rated operating capacity. Like any piece of equipment with a hydraulic system, the lines feeding the pistols of the M-700 may occasionally need to be bled in order to obtain the perfect level of pressure and performance.

Instructions

    • 1

Secure the M-700 on a level surface.

    • 2

Remove the hydraulic fluid reservoir cap and set it aside.

    • 3

Attach your plastic tubing to the bleeder outlet screw of the line closest to the master cylinder. Create an airtight fit. Feed the other end of the tube into one of the empty refill bottles.

    • 4

Pump the brakes to initiate the flow of hydraulic fluid from the line into the empty soda bottle.

    • 5

Refill the reservoir with new hydraulic fluid and continue pumping the brakes to initiate the flow of fluid into the empty soda bottles.

    • 6

Continue the process of bleeding and refilling the reservoir until the fluid that comes out into the soda bottle looks as much like the unused fluid as possible.

    • 7

Repeat Steps 3-6 with each hydraulic line in succession.

    • 8

Replace the hydraulic fluid reservoir cap to complete the bleeding process.
