Spectra Precision Laser Instructions

Marking out points when building can be very important to check that walls and pillars are constructed at the correct angles. Spectra Precision lasers are used to transfer points between the floor and ceiling and to establish 90 degree points between ceilings and walls. Hold the device level when making a calculation to ensure that you get an accurate result.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the power button on the top of the unit to turn it on. A green light will illuminate on the top to indicate that the unit is switched on.

    • 2

Place the laser on a flat surface. The laser must be within four degrees of level to be able to self-level.

    • 3

Move the laser so that the down beam is pointed at the control point. Find the position where the up beam and level beam are pointed. Mark these positions on the wall and ceiling.

    • 4

Place the laser so that the bottom feet are on the edge of the lower track of a wall. Adjust the partition until the beam is on the front edge of the top track to mark a wall for plumbing.

    • 5

Calibrate the laser. Place the unit so the down beam points at a reference mark on the floor. Mark the location pointed to on the ceiling. Rotate the laser 180 degrees and align the down beam with the mark on the floor. Mark the position of the up beam. Measure the distance between the two marks on the ceiling. If the difference is more that 3/16 inch in 25 feet then the laser needs to be serviced by an authorized dealer.
