The collet in a cordless screwdriver is the metal piece inside the chuck that sits directly on the drill bit. To remove the drill bit from the collet, you must loosen the chuck. Once the chuck is loose, the drill bit rests against one side of the chuck, and you can remove it.

     Hold the drill firmly in your hand.

     Grab the drill's chuck firmly in the other hand.

     Push the "Drill" button very slowly. The collet opens up, unlocking the drill bit from the drill.
