Drill a hole through the surface you plan to rivet. Ensure that the diameter of the hole matches the rivet’s bore.
Countersink the top and the bottom surfaces with a countersink tool by placing the shank of the tool into your drill and drilling into the hole. The tool will remove material from the surface of the mating material to create the countersink. Ensure that the depth of the countersink equals the thickness of the rivet’s top and bottom lip — 0.29 inch. Check the reference sheet provided with the rivets to ensure your rivets use the same thickness for the rivet lips.
Load the double-flush rivet gun with the rivet.
Place the tip of the rivet gun into the hole. Hold the gun perpendicular to the surface.
Press down on the gun as you pull the trigger to shoot the rivet into the hole. Pull the tip of the gun out of the hole.
