How to Rearrange Your Matco Tool Box Drawers

Matco is an American hand tool, power tool and tool storage manufacturer headquartered in Stow, Ohio. Matco's tool chests are offered in two- and three-drawer boxes and can be interchanged as needed by the owner. This is a simple procedure, taking only minutes, and it requires just one tool to complete. It is important to switch out the drawers only when your Matco toolbox is on a steady surface.

Instructions

    • 1

Open the drawers on your Matco toolbox one at a time and empty each drawer. The drawers should be emptied to avoid tools catching inside the drawer box, preventing you from sliding the drawer out of the tool chest.

    • 2

Locate the screws on both sides of the drawer box and unfasten each screw with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Immediately put the screws in your front pants pocket to keep them from rolling away.

    • 3

Close the drawer partway, then reopen it, pulling in an upward and outward motion as the back of the drawer box reaches the front of the Matco tool chest. The drawer will pull out of the recess. Repeat this procedure to take out the other drawer(s).

    • 4

Slide the drawers back into the slots of your choosing, one drawer at a time, then refasten the screws inside the drawer box again using a Phillips-head screwdriver. Place the tools back in the drawers in your Matco toolbox to your liking to finish.
