Cut the steel tubing. With the tape measure, measure the steel tubes to the proper length for the frame you are constructing. Mark the measurement and then use the square to draw a perpendicular line at the measurement mark. Cut the steel tube so that the end is as square as possible, to facilitate a better welding joint. Repeat for all pieces.
Clamp the steel tubes together. Make sure the connection areas are held securely in place with clamps. If you are arc welding, use the grounding clamps on both tubes to prevent electrical shock.
Make the brazing connection. If you are brazing, use the flux brush to coat the areas of the tubes that are to be weld with the cadmium-free flux. Heat the steel tubes with the brazing equipment, per the manufacturer's instructions, and apply solder to the joints. The solder will flow where flux has been applied.
Arc weld the pieces together. If you are arc welding the steel tube to make the connection, follow the manufacturer's instructions for your arc welder. Tack the joint in place, around the entire joint. Slowly finish welding the joint, and allow the molten metal to pool slightly before moving down the joint. Allow to cool completely before moving on to the next weld.
