Euro Style Counter Height Stools

Ordering the right bar stools will help you redefine your kitchen island or bar area, and the Euro-style counter height bar stools can provide an upscale look. While their design is slightly different than others, with a modernized look and feel in comparison to the old-fashioned saloon stool, the overall principle of using counter height stools is the same as it is for any other counter or bar area. The design of the counter or bar is just as important as ordering the right stool.
  1. Space

    • Ensure that you have sufficient space for the Euro-style stools themselves. What looks good on paper doesn’t always work out in the field, and while you might want your bar stools in between a wall and the bar or counter, there needs to be sufficient space for movement. As a general rule, you need to have a minimum of 3 feet of clearance around the area where you will be using the bar stools. This allows for people to enter and exit the chairs without feeling cramped for space.

    Comfort

    • Another important part of ordering stools is to ensure that you are comfortable with the overall height. If the chairs aren’t comfortable, you will be dissatisfied in the long run. But of equal importance is the overall height of your kitchen counter tops. When you are designing the kitchen area where the Euro stools will be used, you want your kitchen counter tops at a height that is comfortable for you standing or sitting. While the average counter top is around 3 feet, the average bar is around 42 inches. Determining between the two is a comfort choice based on personal preference.

    Design Elements

    • So the colors might be great, but it is also important for the design elements of your Euro stools to tie in with your kitchen decor. For example, chairs with flared arms might not work with counters or bars that have an extension that is at the same height as the arms because they won’t be able to get the individual seated close enough to the counter. In a similar fashion, if you have soft travertine floors, you don’t want metal legs on your Euro stools because they will scratch the floor.

    Personal Preference

    • Remember that it is easier to buy Euro stools based on a kitchen design rather than design a kitchen around the stools. For example, you might want a high-back stool with flared arms, but buying stools with adjustable height is less expensive than adding height to a counter top or bar. Stools are additional elements, and you have a wide range of options to choose from in terms of height and color, allowing you to accessorize your kitchen based on what is most appealing to you.
