Honeywell Replacement Water Filters

Honeywell is one of the larger companies in the United States, providing a full range of solutions on both commercial and residential scales, ranging from aerospace technology to products for the house such as water filtration systems. Just as with any other water filtration system, sometimes the water filters need to be replaced to keep the overall system working as it is intended, keeping your water fresh and clean for regular consumption.
  1. Home Filtration Systems

    • While many homeowners prefer to use a simple filtration system located on the faucet itself, or a jug system that has a built-in filtration device, there are more permanent solutions available, such as a Honeywell filtration system. These are designed to be installed at the point of entry for water into the home, removing sediments and debris from the water long before it ever reaches the tap where you can drink it without needing additional filtration.

    Manufacturer Warranty

    • If you start noticing debris or cloudy water, it is a sign that your water filter is not doing its job. Before you get around to actually replacing the Honeywell water filter, it is important to note whether you are still covered by warranty. If you are, you should call a Honeywell technician to perform the replacement so that you are covered by warranty, with the replacement filter as well as the labor covered free of charge. If you aren’t covered under warranty, you will need to replace the filter yourself.

    Type of Filter

    • Before you replace the filter, you need to know what kind was installed in the first place. Check your paperwork to see what type of Honeywell filter was installed when the house plumbing was put in and use that information to buy your replacement filter. Failing that, you will need to locate the Honeywell filter at the point of entry for the water into the house and read the serial number off the side to determine what model you have so you can purchase the appropriate filter.

    Replacement

    • Replacement of the filter itself is a relatively straightforward task that involves basic plumbing. You need to shut the water to the house off at the main valve so there is no water pressure in the line before you attempt to disassemble the filter system. Once this is done, you will need to use screwdrivers, wrenches or a socket set (depending on your filter style) to remove the casing to access the filter, at which point you can remove the old filter, replace it with a new one, reattach the assembly case and turn the water to the house back on.
