     Measure the opening of the cabinet where the drawer will be installed.

     Subtract one inch from the width and height of the opening. This will be your overall drawer box width and height.

     Measure the depth of the opening. Subtract the depth of the opening by one inch. Keep in mind that drawer slides come in even number lengths. You want the depth of your drawer box to be an even number so that a standard slide can be installed on your drawer box.
