Paint the ceiling and pipes one neutral hue. Use a paint sprayer to coat this ceiling – pipes and all – in one hue. This option is often the more rapid, and least expensive, one that you have at your disposal.
Build wood casings to surround the pipes. Using plywood, build three-sided boxes to fit over these pipes. Cover these boxes in drywall or use paneling for a less expensive covering material.
Install a drop ceiling. Outfit your ceiling with metal brackets and fill them with ceiling panels, covering not just the pipes but instead the entire ceiling to give the space a cohesive feel.
Use curtains to cover the pipes. Hang the curtain rods down two opposite sides of the room, placing them several inches below the lowest pipe. Measure the length from each rod to its opposite and create curtains to span the gap. Add 10 inches to your measured lengths and cut fabric to these sizes. Create 2 1/2 inch pockets on both sides of each piece of fabric by measuring in from the edge 5 inches then folding the edge of the fabric to this 5-inch mark. Stitch these pockets into place, running a row of stitching by hand or with a sewing machine where the edge of the fabric meets the 5-inch in mark. Attach these curtains to your ceiling by sliding the curtain rods into these pockets then placing the rods back onto the rod brackets.
