Prepare the area for the cutting. Mark the outline of your doorway so that you have a reference line for cutting. Use a level, marker and tape measure to define the outline. Close any doors or windows that lead to the outside because you are going to create a lot of concrete dust. Cover any openings into interior sections with plastic sheeting and tape it to the wall around the openings.
Put on all of the safety gear and grasp the concrete cut-out saw with both hands firmly. Pull the trigger and press the blade down into the concrete along the lines you marked for the exterior of the new doorway. Move the saw along the joint until you have completely cut the lines, stopping periodically if necessary to allow the dust to clear for visibility.
Knock the bricks out of the doorway area with the sledgehammer. Work your way from the top down so you can avoid having pieces from above falling on you and tap them with the sledgehammer to force them to fall away. Use the hammer drill and mason bit for any areas that areas that are difficult to bang out with the sledgehammer and work your way down from the top to the bottom of the new doorway.
