Pry trim and molding off the edges of the cabinets around the floor, walls and ceiling.
Turn off any electrical circuits that run through the cabinets at your home's main electrical box.
Turn off the water supply valves underneath the sink, and open the faucet taps to drain water out of the pipes.
Disconnect the supply hoses to the faucet and the drain assembly from the sink. Remove the sink.
Disconnect any appliances, such as dishwashers or an oven range, that are built into the cabinets and remove them.
Pull all of the drawers out of the cabinets, and unscrew the doors from the hinges.
Remove the countertop. In most cases, the countertop is screwed to the cabinets from underneath.
Remove the screws in the bottom cabinets that hold them to the walls and the screws that connect adjoining cabinet sections to each other. Pull the cabinet sections away from the walls.
Remove the screws that attach the adjoining upper cabinet units to each other. It's easier to remove the upper cabinets if you separate them first.
Remove the screws that hold the upper cabinets to the wall and take down the units. Have an assistant hold the cabinets in position while you remove the screws, and then both of you should lower the cabinets to the ground, as they are heavy.
