Information on the Hardware in a Kitchen

Kitchens house several different types of hardware, including cabinet and drawer pulls, faucets and sink accessories and organizational fixtures. Each type is functional, but can also add a stylistic element to your kitchen decor.
  1. Cabinet & Drawer Pulls

    • Cabinet and drawer pulls are convenient, though sometimes unnecessary, depending on the style of door and drawer. Pulls can give new life to cabinets, and add a sophisticated feel to an otherwise plain kitchen. Styles vary widely, and are available in wood, metal and ceramic.

    Sink Accessories

    • Sink hardware includes the faucet, handles and sprayer. Some models combine the features -- the handle is one lever located on top of the faucet, and the end of the faucet detaches for use as a sprayer. Faucets of different heights and materials are available depending on the type of sink and your kitchen decor.

    Organizational Fixtures

    • Drawer organizers and modular cabinet shelving help create additional space and keep utensils and dishes in place. For even more customization, you can install rotating cabinet racks, pot and pan racks or spice and pantry organizers. Some are for use within cabinets, and are typically utilitarian, while others are designed for open spaces and feature a decorative element.
