What Are Merillat Kitchen Cabinets?

Merillat began manufacturing kitchen cabinetry in 1946 from its base of operations in Michigan, and still maintains U.S.-based manufacturing plants as of September 2011. Merillat provides kitchen cabinets for consumers engaged in remodeling projects and contractors who build new homes. Merillat produces three grades of kitchen cabinet lines: Essentials, Classic and Masterpiece.
  1. Styles

    • Merillat’s Essentials cabinets feature simple raised, recessed and slab full-cabinet, combination-cabinet and kitchen drawer designs. Merillat’s Classic cabinets feature both simple and sophisticated designs with more artistic detail, such as slated center cabinet panels. Merillat’s Masterpiece kitchen cabinetry line showcases modern designs with embellished center panel borders.

    Finishes

    • Exterior color finishes available for Merillat’s Essentials kitchen cabinets include white, toffee, natural wood, cider and paprika. Merillat offers rich color finishes for its Classic collection, such as amaretto, Sedona, Kona, sable and oatmeal. The Merillat Masterpiece kitchen cabinet collection showcases modern colors such as cardinal, vintage onyx and sage, along with traditional color stains such as cognac, chocolate and biscotti.

    Wood Types

    • Merillat uses maple, oak and laminate to produce the Essentials kitchen cabinet line. Wood choices for the Classic line include oak, cherry, hickory and laminate. The Masterpiece kitchen cabinet collection also features the same wood types as the Classic collection, with the addition of maple and birch wood cabinets.

    Construction

    • All lines of Merillat cabinetry feature self-closing hinges that come with a lifetime warranty. Each Merillat kitchen cabinet drawer can support an interior weight of up to 75 lbs., and all Merillat cabinets feature adjustable shelving. Merillat designed its Classic and Masterpiece cabinet lines to resist moisture absorption and staining. The Essentials cabinet line comes with a five-year warranty, the Classic features a 25-year warranty and the Masterpiece cabinet collection has a lifetime warranty.

    Accessories

    • Merillat offers customizable glass panel inserts for its Classic and Masterpiece kitchen cabinets. Glass panel options include clear, etched, layered and textured glass patterns with wooden or metal interior border designs. For a unique look, Merillat also offers wire mesh interior panels. Merillat offers consumers decorative cabinetry hardware in traditional knob, bar and braided styles. Types of Merillat metal handles include silver, pewter, chrome, nickel and stainless steel. Merillat also manufacturers supplemental accents that complement its line of cabinets, like decorative ceiling molding, countertop support frames, corner inserts and cabinet embellishments.
