# How to Remove a LFX2590ST Freezer
When remodeling a kitchen or just upgrading kitchen appliances, you have to remove the old ones. That it is not as simple as simply unplugging them. Removing appliances properly prevents property damage from water leakage or from hitting walls and cabinets. The LG LFX2590ST Freezer is a freestanding freezer unit, which means you do not have to disconnect it or uninstall it from any cabinetry or fixtures.

Empty the ice tray in the freezer and turn off the ice maker.

Scoot the freezer forward by moving slowly forward with one person working on both the left and right of the freezer until it is one foot away from the back wall.

Reach behind the freezer and unplug it. Also unhook the water line. You will need to unscrew it. A wrench might be needed.

Move the freezer all the way out of its position in the kitchen.

Place a dolly in the center of the back of the freezer and with, the help of another person, lean it back onto the dolly. Remove the freezer by rolling it out on the dolly.
