Make a pencil mark on the laminate countertop to indicate the center of the hole that will be drilled for the faucet installation. Measure the laminate surface with a measuring tape to determine the center of the surface, if desired. Make sure the edges of the hole will not be too close to the edge of the countertop or to the edge of the sink.
Check the instructions that came with the faucet you will be installing to determine the diameter of hole needed. Install a hole saw equal to this dimension in a power drill. If you are using a battery-operated drill, make sure it is fully charged before you start.
Place the protruding center starting bit of the hole saw on the pencil mark. Start the drill at a slow speed, and push down on it gently until the starter bit bores through the laminate surface. Switch the drill to a faster speed when the outer cutting edge of the hole saw makes contact with the laminate surface.
Continue drilling until the hole saw has bored thought the entire thickness of the laminate countertop. Turn off the drill. Pull the drill and hole saw back up through the drilled hole.
