How to Install Splash Guards Around Kitchen Sinks

Splash guards around kitchen sinks are commonly found in high-traffic kitchens and small, multi-use spaces such as recreation vehicle sinks. Splash guards sit along the sides of sinks or stoves and can also sit behind a sink open to a countertop. The splash guard prevents the saturation of the area around the sink, protecting wood finishes and making cleanup easy. Splash guards are easy to install and come in stainless steel or acrylic finishes.

Instructions

    • 1

Spray kitchen degreaser on the surface around the sink. Most household cleaners are strong enough to clean the dirt and grime off the counter and around the sink.

    • 2

Wipe the sink down with a towel removing any dirt, grime or grease. Be sure to clean around any caulking or silicon sealers around the sink and on the wall just behind the sink. Let the area dry or wipe it dry with a fresh, clean towel.

    • 3

Remove the backing on the sticky tape on the splash guard frame. Be careful to keep it clean and put it in the correct spot the first time for best adhesion.

    • 4

Line the splash guard up with the sink edge. Set the guard down and press firmly to secure it in place.
