Measure the area where you want to use the Corian with a measuring tape.
Mark the underneath section of the Corina countertop with a grease pencil to indicate the areas that require cutting.
Add a strip of masking tape along the marks to make it easier to see the marks when cutting.
Lay the countertop face down on a pair of sawhorses.
Put on safety goggles, a filter mask and heavy duty work gloves. Cutting the Corian is a messy process and the gear protects your skin, eyes and lungs from the particles.
Attach the carbide blade to the circular saw.
Cut the Corian countertop to the markings you created. Make small, even cuts until you reach the marks and tape.
Use a jigsaw to cut out sections for a sink or other shapes in your countertop.
Clean the Corian countertops regularly with a sudsy cleaning solution. Add a squirt of dishwashing liquid to warm water to make an effective cleanser. Use a sponge to clean and rinse the Corian. Ammonia-based cleaners also are suitable for Corian. Always wipe the Corian dry with a soft, lint-free towel. This prevents water spots and a film on the surface.
Use the recommended commercial cleaner from Corian for stubborn residue. Follow the directions on the bottle for the best results.
Disinfect your countertops after exposing them to raw meats or poultry by using equal parts chlorine bleach and water. Do this before any type of food preparation. Wipe the countertop with a sponge you dampened in the solution. Rinse the area with clear water and then dry it with a soft towel.
