Taking Out a Lazy Susan in a Lower Cabinet

A Lazy Susan is a circular, rotating rack sometimes used in corner cabinets. Some people find having a Lazy Susan in their cabinets appealing because it provides them with easier access to the items stored on the rack, as they can rotate the rack to get the item, rather than dig through the other items on the shelves. If you want to remove the Lazy Susan because it's damaged or because you're remodeling the cabinet, it's a fairly easy process.

Instructions

    • 1

Unscrew the trays from the inside of the doors.

    • 2

Raise the lower tray and remove the pin that holds it in position on the telescoping column that the Lazy Susan spins around; repeat this process with the top shelf.

    • 3

Remove the screws that hold the top of the column in place on the cabinet, and lower the top of the column away from the top of the cabinet.

    • 4

Raise the trays upward and tilt the top of the column away from you so you can separate the bottom of the column from the post on which it pivots.

    • 5

Spin the trays around so you can pull them out of the cabinet, and then take them off the column.

    • 6

Unscrew and remove the mounting brackets on the top and bottom of the cabinet.
