How to Redo Countertops With Spray Granite

Take all items off the countertop. Remove items from the room or cover them with a dropcloth to prevent over-spray from the granite spray. Cover the floor near the countertop with a dropcloth.

Clean the entire countertop with a mixture of 1 tablespoon of trisodium phosphate and 1 gallon of lukewarm water. Use a lint-free cloth to scrub the surface of the countertop. Rinse the cleaning solution off the countertop with a clean lint-free cloth moistened with water. Wipe the entire countertop dry with a lint-free towel.

Sand the countertop, using the sanding tool included in the kit, until the surface of the countertop has a rough texture. Run your hand over the counter; when you feel a light, rough texture over the entire surface, stop sanding. Wipe off the dust, using a damp lint-free cloth.

Roll a small paint roller in the adhesive base coat until lightly cover. Start at one end of the countertop and apply the base coat with the paint roller over the entire countertop surface. Immediately spray the entire countertop with wetting agent.

Pour the decorative chips in the hopper of the chip dispenser. Apply an even layer of chips on top of the countertop, using the chip dispenser. Allow the surface to dry overnight before continuing.

Use the chip scraper to remove excessive chips from the countertop. The chip scraper removes any pieces of decorative chip from the surface to create a smoother surface.

Sand the entire countertop with the sanding tool until the entire surface is smooth. Wipe off the dust with a damp cloth.

Apply the protective top coat over the entire countertop, using a small, clean paint roller. Allow the surface to dry for 48 hours. The counter won't be completely cured for seven days.
