Use a caulk gun to lay a bead of silicone caulk along the edge of the countertop opening to serve as an adhesive for the drop-in sink. Along with holding the sink in place, the caulk will also provide a final layer of waterproofing in the joint between sink and counter to prevent water seeping along the sink edge.
Lift the sink carefully above the opening, and then lower it into the hole in the countertop, placing the edge of the sink on the bead of caulk. Make certain that the rim of the sink lies flush with the countertop all along the edge, adjusting the sink placement as necessary.
Lay another bead of caulk along the edge of the sink where the rim meets the countertop surface to provide a primary waterproofing seal. Moisten the tip of your finger with water and then run your finger along the bead, smoothing it in place along the joint between sink and counter.
Place the retaining clips against the edge of the sink beneath the countertop, setting them snugly against the bowl of the sink to prevent sink movement. Screw the clips to the bottom of the countertop using the included screws and a Phillips-head screwdriver, to secure the clips in place. Use at least two clips on either side of the sink bowl, towards the front and rear of the sink.
Lay a bead of the silicone caulk around the opening of the sink drain, and then place the strainer basket through the opening. Press firmly on the basket and give it a turn over the opening to spread the caulk evenly. Remove any caulk that escapes from the bottom of the basket rim with a wet fingertip.
Cover the pipe threads along the bottom of the basket with pipe thread compound. Place the rubber drain gasket over the threads and then slide the paper washer onto the threads as well, setting it against the gasket base. Screw the basket’s lock nut over the threads to hold it in place, tightening it with a pipe wrench.
Run the hoses of the faucets through the openings in the sink and into the cabinet cavity beneath the countertop. Place a bead of caulk around the faucet holes and then press the faucets in place. Secure the faucets by placing the faucet’s lock nuts over the base beneath the countertop. Place another bead of caulk around the base of the faucets where they meet the countertop. Connect the water supply hoses from the house to the faucets, tightening the hoses in place with an adjustable wrench.
Connect the drainpipe to the bottom of the basket drain, tightening the nut around the pipe connection over the threads on the bottom of the drain to hold the pipe in place. Turn on and test the water connection.
