    Maintenance

    • Regular maintenance will keep Corian sinks looking like new. Clean with soapy water, an ammonia-based cleaner or a commercial solid surface cleaner. Do not use window cleaner, which can leave a waxy buildup that dulls the surface. Use a cleaner formulated for hard water, such as CLR or Lime-a-Way, to remove hard water marks. Use Soft Scrub and a green Scotch Brite pad to remove residue from Corian sinks. Lightly rub the pad over the entire sink to prevent scrub marks. To remove built-up residues, use a deep cleaner formulated for DuPont Corian available from Stone Care International.

Disinfect Corian sinks with a mixture of equal parts of bleach and water. Fill the sink and allow it to set for 15 minutes. Drain it and rinse well. Always dry Corian sinks after spills or cleanup to prevent a filmy buildup that dulls the finish.

    Cuts and Scratches

    • Minor cuts and scratches are easy to remove from Corian sinks. Clean the sink thoroughly and leave it wet. Use a peach abrasive pad (available from Micro-surface Finishing Products) to lightly scrub the scratches in a straight line. Turn the pad 90 degrees frequently and continue scrubbing in a straight line. Frequently rinse the debris from the sink. Use the pad to blend the scrubbed area with the rest of the sink. Use an aqua or gray abrasive pad, if necessary, to restore the gloss to the sink. Rinse the pads and let them dry thoroughly before storing.

    Tips

    • Corian sinks do not need sealing like natural stone. They are resistant to bacteria, mildew and mold when cleaned properly. Temperatures higher than 212 degrees Fahrenheit or an open flame can damage Corian sinks. Run cold water when pouring boiling water in the sink and do not put hot dishes in the sink.

Strong chemicals, such as oven cleaner or paint thinner, can damage Corian. If they are spilled in the sink, rinse and dry it immediately. The materials and production methods of Corian sinks are certified as kosher. Corian sinks have a 10-year limited warranty.
