Measure the length and width of the surface for the tile crown installation. Mark the edges with a piece of painter's tape on the wall.
Recreate the crown dimensions on a flat work surface by taping painter's or masking tape down to create a box with the same area that the tile will cover.
Arrange the field tiles in the middle of the taped area with plastic spacers between the tiles.
Set the bead or bullnose tiles around the top and bottom edges and at the sides in the box so the curved edges of the trim tiles face the outer edges of the tile design. Insert plastic spacers between the trim tiles so the spacing is the same as it is for the field tile.
Use a tile cutter to trim any of the tiles to fit, if needed.
Spread prepared tile adhesive over the wall in the area marked by the painter's tape.
Press the tiles and spacers on the wall in the same position they were in on the layout from the pre-arranged area on your work surface.
Wait for the tile adhesive to dry completely. Use a spacer puller to remove the plastic spacers.
Spread tile grout over the entire surface of the tiles with a grout float held at a 45 degree angle to the tile.
Turn the grout float to a 90 degree angle to the tiles and scrape off the excess grout.
Use a small painting sponge to wipe away the grout from the surface of the tiles without removing any of the grout from between the tiles.
Wait for two days for the grout to set and apply a grout sealer according to the package directions.
