Corian countertops add beauty to your kitchen, and installing Corian countertops yourself can save you money. However, the base cabinets must be straight and level before you can install the countertops. Sometimes you have to make adjustments to level your cabinets on an uneven floor. Instructions

    • 1

Slide all the base cabinets into position along the wall. Start with a corner cabinet, and work your way out from there. Push the cabinets firmly against the wall.

    • 2

Look at the cabinets to determine which cabinet sticks up the highest. This is the high spot in your floor, and you need to start at the high spot when you begin to level the cabinets.

    • 3

Place a level on the cabinet to determine which ends are low. Place wood shims between the bottom of the cabinet and the floor to raise the cabinet. Place the wood shims near the corner of the cabinets. Use a hammer to tap additional wood shims on top of each other until the cabinet is level. Check the cabinet with the level from front to back and from side to side.

Shim the rest of the cabinets until they are level and straight. All cabinets must be the exact same height as the first one so that the Corian top can sit perfectly flat on top of the base cabinets.
