Instructions

    • 1

Mark the area on the concrete floor to be cut out for the electrical wiring. Use a pencil to place a mark at the beginning and end of the place to be cut. Also mark both sides of the cutting location.

    • 2

Hold a chalk line between the pencil marks you made that indicate one side of the cutting area's perimeter. Snap the chalk line. Repeat this procedure for the other side and for both ends of the cutting location. Typically, the chalk lines will form a rectangle.

    • 3

Spray the chalk lines with a can of clear lacquer. The lacquer will prevent the chalk lines from being erased.

    • 4

Put on safety glasses. Place a diamond concrete saw blade in a concrete saw. Follow the instructions provided in the concrete saw’s owner’s manual to install the diamond blade.

    • 5

Start the concrete saw. Use the saw to cut along one chalk line on the floor, beginning at one end of the line. Let the blade work through the concrete. Press down on the saw as you push it along the chalk line. The saw blade should penetrate all the way through the concrete floor. Repeat this process to cut along the rest of the chalk lines.
