Gravel Stop Types

• The gravel stop is placed around the edges of the roof and nailed down tight. It helps direct the flow of water away from the roof and protects the edges of the roof from weather elements. The gravel stop serves as a barrier around the perimeter of the roof and prevents gravel and loose material from sliding down or being blown off the roof protecting passersby from possible injury. The gravel stop system is composed of metals like aluminum, architectural grade copper and steel. Gravel stops may be made from formed aluminum products or extruded aluminum products.

Type F Gravel Stop

• Type F gravel stop systems are lightweight, economical and provide good performance. This makes them quite popular. They are also compatible with most roofing systems. F type gravel stops lend themselves to greater design flexibility. They are available in aluminum and steel material.

Fascia System XP

• This is an FM approved gravel stop system. The Fascia gravel stop system is made out of extruded aluminum. It is designed in a manner to seal the entire edge of the roof. It is the gravel stop system of choice for use in areas prone to windstorms. The Fascia gravel stop system is suitable for use in single-ply roofs.

Drainable Gravel Stop ED

• This gravel stop system is designed in such a manner as to let the water drain off the roof. This is possible due to the presence of staggered holes in the system at appropriate points. It is an extruded aluminum gravel stop and is composed of the aluminum alloy6063T52. Use of drainable gravel stop considerably reduces problems of roof leakage.
