LiftMaster Logic Board Installation

The LiftMaster company makes many different models of power garage door openers that you can install in your home or building. The logic board, also known as a control station or logic controller, is the device you will use to control the operation of the garage door opener. You must install this device on the wall in your garage and connect it to the proper wires coming from the motor for the opener to work correctly.

Instructions

Turn off the power to the garage by moving the "On/Off" switch on the circuit breaker to the "Off" position before beginning. Use the stud finder to locate the studs on the wall where you want to install the logic board. Mark the location of the studs with a pencil. Knock a hole in the wall with a hammer, and locate the power wires located within.

Run the power wires through the hole in the back of the conduit box for the logic board, and then place the board on the wall you want to install it on, with the mounting brackets placed over the studs. Use the power drill to insert the mounting screws into these holes to mount the box to the wall.

Connect the three power wires to the three terminals marked "L1-H," "L2-N" and "L3." Connect the ground wire to the chassis ground screw in the box. Run the control wires from the garage door opener to the box. Find the row of terminals labeled 1 through 13 in the center of the box.

Connect the "Single Button Control" wire to the first terminal. Connect the "Interlock" wires to the second and third terminals. Connect the "Common," "Stop," "Close," "Open" and "Reverse" wires to the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth wires, respectively. Connect the second "Common" wire to the 11th terminal and the positive and negative "AC" wires to the 12th and 13th terminals.

Connect the "Infrared Photo Eye" to the ninth terminal and the "Maintenance Alert System" to the 10th terminal. These items are separate from the main unit's wiring harness. Press the control button to test the opener to ensure it responds. When it does, place the cover over the control box.
