Location may be a primary concern for someone when they are choosing to live in a condo or a house. While houses are prevalent in smalll towns and suburbs, those who want to live in a city may choose to live in a condo. A high concentration of condos are located in downtown areas, and living in a city offers individuals a chance to be around a high concetration of restaurants and other entertainment venues. For some, a condo may also be closer to work and help save them money by allowing them to take public transportation.
Condos may be surrounded by a security gate in some areas or have a security guard on location to protect tenants and respond to any disturbances. While some condo residents may not like living in such proximaty to their neighbors, having people around may provide an additional level of security. If neighbors notice any suspicious activities, they can call the proper authorities or alert the security guard on location.
Adding a swimming pool to the backyard of a home can cost thousands of dollars -- and don't even think about a game room or fitness center. Condos may have all sorts of amenities that tenants have access to and wouldn't be able to afford on their own. In addition to a swimming pool, game room and fitness center, other possible amenities include tennis courts, media rooms, spas and saunas, and storage areas.
Because of all of the advantages of living in a condo, owners may not be the only people that want to live there. The location, amenities and safety may make a condo more attractive to others. For this reason, some may look at a condo as an investment, which could make it a better purchase compared to a home. Rather than purchase a second home on a lake or golf course, some individuals may find a condo a better option because they can make make money renting it out when they themselves are not staying there.
