Can You Trim the Ends of a Bathroom Silestone Countertop So It Fits?

Silestone is a type of quartz that is used to form and make bathroom and kitchen counter tops. Silestone is a very hard material that can dull the blades of cutting tools that would normally be used for trimming marble and other counter top materials. Wet saws, which pump and spray water onto the blade and the surface being cut, can be used to successfully trim and cut Silestone without damaging either the saw blade or the counter top.

Slide the wet saw's table extensions out and lock them in place by flipping up the locking tabs.

    • 5

Adjust the saw's cutting depth adjustment knob to the depth needed to cut through the counter top and have the assistant hold the piece of counter top on the saw table

    • 6

Lower the cutting arm and slowly cut through the Silestone to trim it to size.

    • 7

Lift the counter top and set it into place to make sure it fits properly.
