How to Build a Small Recording Booth

Setting up a recording booth in the home is desirable for anyone who likes to record regularly. A small, soundproof room is ideal. Having a professional install a recording booth in the home is pricey and often undesirable unless you own the space. But with a few simple supplies and spare time, you can build your own recording booth in any small room that you have available.

Instructions

  1. Small Recording Booth

    • 1

Clear out a small room to use for your recording booth. A walk-in closet works well.

    • 2

Measure the room's walls, ceiling, door and floor.

    • 3

Cut sheets of the acoustic foam with the scissors, conforming to the measurements taken.

    • 4

Using the hammer, nail the acoustic foam over each of the areas measured. When covering the door, nail the foam over the door's top, side and bottom to create a tight fit in the door frame when the door is closed.

      Your recording booth is ready.
