Put closed packages of Laura Ashley flooring in the room where you'll install it -- and let it acclimate to room conditions for 48 hours.
Thoroughly clean the wood or concrete subfloor with a broom and vacuum.
Roll out a polyfoam underlayment in rows across the floor. Cut the pieces to size with a utility knife. Butt the seams up against each other, taping the seams with masking tape.
Put down 10-mm spacing blocks around the perimeter of the room.
Lay the first piece of Laura Ashley plank flooring with the tongue edge against the spacers on the wall, parallel to the room's main light source. Hold the short end of the next piece of flooring up to the short end of the first piece at a 45-degree angle. Push the tongue into the groove while pressing down to snap the glueless flooring into place. Snap each plank in the row together in the same manner, until you get to the last plank in the row.
Measure the distance between the wall and the edge of the second to the last plank. Cut the last plank to the measurement -- allowing for the 10 mm space -- with a saw and snap it in place.
Begin the second course with the piece cut from the last piece at the end of the first course to stagger the joints between rows. Snap the tongue of the piece into the groove of the piece in the first row.
Snap the end of the next piece into the end of the piece you just installed. Gently lift the piece lengthwise, and snap its tongue into the groove. Repeat to the end of the row.
Repeat Steps 4 to 7 until the floor is complete. Remove the spacing blocks.
