Take the small-tipped chisel and angle it at a 45 degree angle towards the floor on the grout line. Tap lightly on the chisel with the hammer until the chisel bites into the grout and removes a piece.
Repeat this grout removal process all along the perimeter of the tile until all the grout is removed.
Place the length of board across one end of the tile; it doesn’t matter which end.
Rest the handle of the putty knife against the board with the flat blade end positioned in from the corner by about 1 or 2 inches. Tap on the butt end of the putty knife to lodge its flat edge underneath the tile. Use care when tapping; don’t hammer hard if the idea is to save the tile.
Lay the second putty knife on the opposite edge of the tile and repeat this process until the second putty knife is lodged underneath the tile.
Grab the handles of both putty knifes and slightly lift up on the handles as you give each blade a slight twist in the clockwise direction. The tile should pop right up.
Repeat this process to remove any tile desired.
