How to Lay Allure Ultra Between the Doorways

Allure Ultra flooring has the appearance of actual wood but doesn't require using complicated tools, hammering nails or applying glue. These planks lock together with a tongue and groove system. You don't need to prepare the floor underneath the planks; lay it on top of the existing linoleum, concrete or vinyl floor. Lay the Allure Ultra planks over the entire room before continuing through the doorway and into the next room.

Instructions

    • 1

Install rows of Allure Ultra planks past the doorway first, from one end of the room to the other. Allow the planks to extend into the doorway if necessary. Insert a row of planks by fitting the long sides together at a 15-degree angle. Slide the planks together until you hear a clicking sound.

Lay planks through the doorway without locking them to be sure they'll fit. Leave 1/8 inch of space between the planks and the door frame to allow for expansion.

    • 3

Lay a ruler on top of any planks that you need to trim. After measuring the cut with a tape measure, use the ruler to make a straight line with a pencil along the area to be cut. Remove the ruler, score the pencil line with a utility knife and use your hands to snap the plank.

Lock the planks together to lay the floor through the doorway. Insert the short ends of the planks together first, followed by the long sides. Insert the short end of one plank into another at a 15-degree angle, lining up the ends evenly. Slide one end into the other until you hear a clicking sound.
