Check the level of the subfloor. Place a long straight-edge on the floor. Run the straight-edge across the floor checking for raised areas. Mark any high spots with a pencil.
Cover doorways, closets and heat vents with plastic sheeting for protection from dust particles.
Attach the sandpaper disc to the bottom of the edger. Be sure that the edger is not plugged in when you are attaching the sandpaper.
Plug in the edger. Turn it on and sand the high areas using a circular motion. Sand until the areas are level with the surrounding floor. Keep the edger moving as you sand. Change the sandpaper as needed.
Vacuum the dust from the floor when you are satisfied that the floor is level.
