Measure the wall for width and length of the hearth. You can place the hearth at different heights on the wall but measure accordingly.
Clip the U shaped brackets to your frame. These brackets came with the fireplace and allow the metal louvers to ease into position on the lower portion of the clip. Install the hearth so that the firebox that sits inside it fits into the fireplace and has at least one inch of distance between the two components.
Insert the device's firebox in the hearth so that about 50 percent of the unit sticks out. Ease either the electric or gas connection out from the side portion of the fireplace and attach it to an electrical outlet. Then, put the fireplace in the hole that exists on the hearth, and ensure that it appears even.
Nail or glue the crown molding trim. The method you use depends on the finish of the wall and fireplace. Use a mitered cut on the corners so that the installation looks professional. To get the right angle, use a miter box to make the cuts.
Place wood strategically in your fireplace so that you have enough fire to last for hours.
