Clearances

• Masonry fireplaces for Lopi Answer inserts require a clearance of 13 inches from the side of the firebox to the side wall and a clearance of 30 inches for the ZC metal fireplace. From the top of the firebox to the mantel, a clearance of 24 inches is required for metal fireplaces and 15.5 inches for masonry fireplaces.

  The closest non-protected surface from the side of the firebox must be 9.5 inches away for masonry and 12 inches for metal. Both types of fireplaces require a clearance of 12 inches for the closest non-protected surface on top of the firebox.

Dimensions

• The Lopi Answer fireplace insert is 20.75 inches tall, 23.875 inches wide and 16.25 inches in overall depth. The depth into the fireplace is 13.5 inches and the depth on the hearth is 3 inches. The size of the flue is 6 inches. Constructed using 0.19 to 0.31-inch plate steel, the Lopi Answer has a body weight of 300 lbs. This model is approved as a zero clearance installation fireplace.

Minimum Sizing and Panels

• The Lopi Answer insert requires a minimum front and back width of 23.625 inches for masonry fireplace sizing and 25.625 inches for ZC metal fireplace sizing. The minimum depth is 13.50 inches for a masonry fireplace and 14.5 inches for a metal fireplace. The minimum height for either fireplace is 20.75 inches. Eight-by-eight inch rectangular panels for this unit measure 28.25 inches high and 40.125 inches wide while 10-by-10 inch rectangular panels are 30.25 inches tall and 44.125 inches wide.

Performance

• Lopi Answer inserts accommodate logs up to 18 inches in size and have a firebox with a capacity of 1.6 cubic feet. The maximum burn time for this unit is eight hours, producing emissions of 4.4 grams per hour of operation. This fireplace has a heating capacity for spaces ranging from 750 to 1,200 square feet.
