How to Shut Off Heat & Glo SL-36

The Heat & Glo SL-36 Ultimate is a fireplace heating unit that provides the warmth and look of a wood log fire, but with a clean-burning gas system. Besides shutting off the unit -- stopping the flow of gas and turning off the pilot flame -- seasonally or when it's warm outside, you also shut it off to perform maintenance such as cleaning or servicing. Whether you're using a remote, wall control or a thermostat, Heat & Glo provides customers with a simple system to shut off the unit as needed.

     Shut off your Heat & Glo SL-36 by pushing the "Off" button on the unit's remote control or wall control.

     Turn the "On/Off" switch to the "Off" position if you have a wall switch instead of a button-style remote or wall control.

     Reduce the temperature to its lowest setting on your thermostat controls if your unit relies on a thermostat rather than an "Off" button or "On/Off" switch.
