Wood stoves add ambiance to your home, in addition to acting as a primary or supplementary heat source. Vermont Castings wood stove models include the Defiant, the Encore, the Intrepid II, the Resolute Acclaim, the Aspen Wood and the Savannah Series.
  1. Log Capacity

    • The Defiant wood stove accommodates logs up to 24 inches long, while the Encore wood stove burns logs measuring up to 22 inches. The Intrepid II, Resolute Acclaim and Aspen Wood models burn logs measuring 16 inches or less. Savannah Series wood stoves burn logs ranging from 18 to 22 inches in length.

    Performance

    • The Defiant wood stove produces a maximum of 75,000 British Thermal Units (BTUs), every hour, which heats up to 24,000 square feet. Encore stoves produce up to 65,000 BTUs per hour, heating up to 1,800 square feet. The Intrepid II generates up to 27,000 BTUs every 60 minutes, which heats 1,200 square feet of space. The Resolute Acclaim produces a maximum of 40,000 BTUs per hour, which heats up to 1,400 square feet. Aspen Wood models produce up to 18,000 BTUs, which heats spaces measuring approximately 6,000 square feet. Savannah Series stoves generate between 11,000 and 75,000 BTUs per hour and heat spaces ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 square feet.

    Burn Time

    • The Defiant burns wood for up to 14 hours, while the Encore burns for up to 12 hours. The Intrepid II model burns for approximately six hours, and the Resolute Acclaim has a nine-hour burn time. The Aspen Wood stove burns wood for up to five hours. Savannah Series stoves feature burn times ranging from eight to 13 hours.
