Making briquettes isn't as challenging as it sounds. Almost any burnable material can be used to form briquettes, which is a cost-effective way to reuse materials. Use handmade briquettes in wood stoves, fireplaces, and outside stoves. These briquettes will usually become hot enough to cook food. Vary your ingredients and keep track of what you burn until you find the formula that works best for you.

Pour the slurry into a mold, such as a loaf pan, and let it dry for several days. The hotter and dried the climate, the faster the fuel will dry.
