How to Attach Siding to Concrete Walls

  • 1 1/2-inch furring strips
  • Hammer drill
  • Concrete screws

      Line up 1 1/2-inch furring strips at 16- or 24-inch intervals along the concrete walls to determine the location of pilot holes.

      Drill a series of pilot holes with a hammer drill at 12-inch intervals for concrete screws. After all the pilot holes are drilled, they should create a grid pattern on the concrete walls.

      Align the furring strips in place, and secure them by drilling the concrete screws into the pilot holes.

      Hold the vinyl siding in place, and secure it to the furring strips with vinyl siding nails. Continue in this manner to complete your siding project.
