Tack tar paper underlayment onto the current surface of the roof. Snap chalk lines running from ridge to eaves along the roof for alignment reference, placing one every 10 feet.
Install the eave flashing, attaching it to the eaves every 2 feet, secured with a washered wood screw.
Glue a molded foam closure strip to the inside lower edge of a tin sheet and lay the sheet on the lower downwind corner of your roof. Ensure the sheet is aligned with the chalk lines and has a minimum eave overhang of 1 inch. Screw it in place, driving a screw on either side of the tallest ridges every 10 inches along their length.
Apply a strip of butyl caulk tape to the upper edge of the sheet and lay another in place just above it, positioned so that it overhangs the first sheet by 6 inches. Secure it in the same fashion as the first and continue adding sheets until you reach the ridge of the roof. Cut the last sheet to size with a jigsaw if necessary.
Lay the next column of sheets just upwind of the first, starting again at the bottom edge. Install each sheet just as before, only this time adding a vertical strip of caulk tape to the edge of the sheet to the left before overlapping each new sheet with it. Continue until the entire roof is covered with tin.
Glue molded foam closure strips to the upper edge of every sheet that adjoins the ridgeline. Install the ridge and gable trim over these strips, attaching it with a screw every 18 inches.
