Do-It-Yourself Jacuzzi Installation

Jacuzzi is a brand of whirlpool tubs. The tub's warm water and jets are known to be soothing to tense muscles and relaxing to stressed minds. These tubs can be installed indoors or outdoors, allowing you to transform an ordinary space into a relaxing oasis. Installing a Jacuzzi requires some electrical work, so for safety's sake be sure to have a licensed electrician inspect your work prior to using your new Jacuzzi.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the Jacuzzi in a suitable location. A Jacuzzi should not be placed in a corner that will prevent you from accessing its mechanical components underneath the tub. An outdoor Jacuzzi should not be under power lines or next to the foundation of a home or other building and should be placed on level ground.

    • 2

Install a ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) in the Jacuzzi's wooden frame. Some Jacuzzis have an independent heating source and require two GFCIs.

    • 3

Place foam pads between the bottom of the Jacuzzi tub and its frame. This will reduce the vibration of the Jacuzzi during use.

    • 4

Secure the flange of the Jacuzzi tub to its frame with screws.

    • 5

Stabilize the Jacuzzi tub with anchor straps to the floor or wall studs.

    • 6

Caulk between the Jacuzzi tub and the adjacent wall or tiles to prevent water damage from splashes sustained during use.
