Attach pieces of vinyl F-channel to the outside of the fascia edge all the way around the house with the “F” profile upside down and facing toward the house. Use 3/4-inch galvanized roofing nails to secure the F-channel in the pre-drilled slots on it. Do not nail the nails too tight to allow the F-channel to expand and contract with temperature changes.
Hold one end of a carpenter’s level under the F-channel and the other end against the house. Level it. Mark that location on the house’s wall. Repeat this process as you make numerous marks on each wall of the house. Using these marks, snap a chalk line to indicate where to install the F-channel on the house’s walls.
Attach inverted pieces of F-channel along the chalk line using roofing nails.
Slide a 10-foot section of soffit into the slots created by the F-channel. Trim the vinyl soffit material with tin snips, if necessary, to make it fit. To cut large quantities of soffit material, use a circular saw.
Cut a piece of vinyl H-channel the width of the soffit. Use it to connect the first piece of soffit material with the second piece. Continue adding soffit sections with H-channel connectors. When you get to corners, cut the soffit material at an angle to match the corner. Join the corners with H-channel and continue working your way around the house installing the soffit.
